Also, it's easy to quicksave right before you're killed and I used to be a bit hyperactive about hitting the quicksave key back in the day - which probably also contributed to the game thinking I was better than I actually was. The problem is that it only takes a bit of luck for the game to decide that you're good and getting it to back off seems to be difficult.Īs much as I really enjoyed Max Payne, that aspect of the game definitely made it a bit of a slog near the end - especially the level in the parking ramp.
Seems like a great game to play in handheld Max Payne PSN - CoyoteRaoul Come see me. IIRC, there are no difficulty levels that you can choose in Max Payne - the game evaluates how good you are and adjusts the difficulty to suit your skills. One that is dark, twisted, enigmatic, enthralling and an absolute. The problem is the somewhat broken adaptive difficulty. Enemies tend to be bullet sponges, and a full-on shotgun blast to the face isn't enough for some.
What's not so hot is the amount of times I've been shotgunned, blown upped, one-shotted, and generally minced-meated without warning.
